Hey everyone! Well, I got another podcast out. Would have been out soner, but I had a cold and for a couple days I couldn’t say more than a few words without coughing!
This week I discuss golfing and perhaps my first time out on the golf course. That’s right, I have never been golfing. Also, I give my thoughts about my friend’s suggestion to get a super model caddy from http://www.caddychicks.com/.
I have a new intro for my international segment thanks to Adam from http://www.madtownaces.com/. It’s great, I love it, and it was just in time for Andy’s segment about life in Sweden. Andy’s regular podcast, the Polarbear Podcast, is one of my favorites and can be found at http://www.polarbearpodcast.com/.

I’m looking for international podcasters who might want to do a five minute segment once every few weeks to detail and discuss life in their country. If you are interested, please email me at bigchowder @ chowder-radio.com

Episode #6 is up and posted! I discuss the recent cold weather Sacramento and California have been experiencing and how it has affected the central valley citrus and avocado growers. I also talk about the problems I recently had with GoDaddy as my hosting server and my switch to Libsyn. Talked about RC helicopters and my desire to get one and fly it over a soccer or baseball game. I did have an “idiots in the news” segment and covered some local news.
Music played:
Rantings Of Eva “Still Holding On” (a great song!) from http://www.garageband.com/
Ari Shrine “Try A Little Harder” from http://music.podshow.com
Podcast promos:
808Talk @ http://www.808talk.com/ - A great podcast about everything Hawaii. Hosted by V. Brown, who is extremely enthusiastic and knowledgable about his subject matter.
Israelisms @ http://www.israelisms.com/ - Great humor from Charley and Carol where they discuss politics, weather, society, and comedy in Israel, and Charley’s ability to irritate traffic cops!
Special segment - In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, I played a few minutes of his famous and powerful “I Have A Dream” speech. If you haven’t heard it before, you need to!

Well, it was determined that GoDaddy, despite saying they are perfect for podcasters, screwed up my podcast feed. They have some server redirect thing going on that prevents iTunes from being able to get to the mp3 files. At Rob from Podcast411’s suggestion, I opened an account at www.libsyn.com, which really caters to and actually cares about podcasters, and directed my feed to look there for my mp3 files - and now my podcast is working great.
A little disappointing that GoDaddy doesn’t support podcasters more - and considering there are tens of thousands of them out there, all needing server space somewhere, it seems a follish business decision to not help out more. Their “podcast” special they have offers less bandwidth and less server storage than their standard packages! Podcasters may be strange and eccentric, but they aren’t stupid!
So please take a listen to the newest episodes, and give me feedback!
For anyone who has been trying to download Episode005 through iTunes and getting an error code - I know it’s happening. I am using all of my resources (and wits) to try and figure out what is happening, but GoDaddy and iTunes support both are underwhelming me with their lack of interest.
In fact, if it wasn’t for Rob over at www.podcast411.com, I would be lost. (Not only is he a great resource and a nice guy, but his show is awesome. If you have any interest in podcasting, you should check it out - but don’t forget about me in the process!)
Hopefully I will have things back to normal shortly. Thanks for sticking around!
Episode #5 is finally up after a bit of a delay - you know how it is with the holidays and the New Year! In this episode, I discuss New Year’s celebrations, my trip to Phoenix to watch the Insight Bowl college football game, and how I have rung in the New Year in the past.
Also, I am excited about my new international segment. The goal is to bring different cultures across the globe to everyone with looks into everyday life in other countries. My good friend Tokyo Joe (from the Made In Japan podcast) gives a quick look into what life in Japan is like, and does so this episode with an overview of ordering pizza - it’s hilarious and you can’t miss it!
I also talk about my recent excursion to my first ever gun show.
Songs played (from http://music.podshow.com/)

Special thanks to Tokyo Joe for the new segment, Lisa Julien for the intro voiceover, Felix DeCat for the outro voiceover, and Adam from http://www.madtownaces.com/ for the other voice imaging work.

The show started out with my new promo, which I think is pretty darn funny. The sexy female voice you hear is Beth Cameron, and you can reach her at http://www.bethcameronvo.com/. Thanks again, Beth, for the great work.
Christmas is in a few days, and I wanted to talk a bit about Christmas dinner traditions around the world and Christmas in general. Also, I talked a little about Sacramento and the area, and about a few trips to watch the Sacramento Kings, our local National Basketball Association franchise.
Towards the end of the show I reveal my exciting news: my friend Tokyo Joe will be producing a semi-regular segment for my podcast detailing life in Japan and the differences between their culture and America’s. The first segment will be on the next show, so stay tuned for that!
Song played: “County Road Christmas Time” by Craig Cardiff (http://www.craigcardiff.com/) which can be found at http://music.podshow.com/
My new voiceover for my intro was done by Mark Hannah from http://www.radiodaddy.com/, and for the outro was Lisa Julien at http://www.vocalimage.ca/
My news segment was produced by Adam at http://www.madtownaces.com/.
Last but not least, please have a wonderful, safe and fun Christmas, and we’ll see you after Santa is done working!

It’s cold and soggy in the Bread Bowl here somewhere in Northern California and Christmas is coming! You know what that means - Christmas music, and some of it isn’t nice. Also, I talk about what the wacky fire department in my area does to get people in the Christmas spirit.
By the way, what is figgy pudding? Do I really want to find out?
Hopefully by now my podcasts are starting to sound like they flow a bit more. I know it will take a little bit more time to get totally comfortable in front of the microphone, but that’s ok - it will come. Next week I should have a bunch of new pieces to add to the production quality.
Also played two podcast promos for shows I really enjoy, check them out!

The second episode is up and actually has a bit more production quality than the first. I had a bit of fun at the beginning of the podcast with a little bit of silliness, then got into some more general discussion, talked about some nut thiefs, coal mine weddings, and played a couple songs from http://music.podshow.com/.
This episode I wanted to talk about the people who had helped me get started, and I wanted to note them out here: thanks to Travis for helping me get my website up and my server space situated - you’re a good buddy. Mr. Tunes created the intro/outro, and will have a new segment piece for me soon that I hope to have on the show next week. Tokyo Joe was great for giving me advice and telling me his experiences with his “Made In Japan” podcast that I had enjoyed so much. Rob from “Podcast 411″ helped me get my xml feed dialed in, and Scott Fletcher from Podcheck Review did the voiceover work from me.
Thanks to all of these people for their help!

Good news! My “gallery” section on my front page is up and running. This will be where I post the photos from my travels. The cool thing about this is that my podcast listeners can put in requests for places they have always wanted to see on the West Coast and I will post photos of my travels there on my website.
